Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Great little place. The burger is by far the best thing on the menu. The fries were just ok. Next time I will add an egg to my burger it looked delicious.

My mouth is so happy right now! As I passes by this place looking for a good vegetarian option I almost kept walking since burger joints don't often do well with options other than processed fake meat pucks. But the music caught my attention and the signs about all-natural ingredients pulled me in. I am so glad I did!!! The veggie burger, made fresh with quinoa, is one of the best I have ever had and go great with the parm fries that are perfectly crispy without being hard. I am in heaven. Now they have taste samples of custard! I don't want to ever leave. I really wanted to point out how friendly and outstanding the staff is here. They are really outgoing people who make me feel valued as a guest. That's not what you normally get from fast food. This place is a true find. I just spoke with the owner, Mike. He's a great guy. I didn't realize that the staff come to every table at least 3 times to check on you and make sure you are happy. IN A OWBURGER PLACE? It was a great experience. Great customer service, wonderful food. relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy Florida, and some of the best food anywhere. This feels like Christmas!

I love BurgerFi; this location is no exception. A little smaller than the Delray location, it has the same decor and feel but a smaller indoor footprint. The folks working there are super friendly, local beer is on tap, and the signage is easy to read. The food quality is excellent as usual-- if you haven't tried it, get a burger with one quinoa-veggie patty and one beef patty. The combination is amazing. Also, they have the computerized soda fountains with a lot more choices than expected.

It's just burgers. Not much to say about their stuff. I wouldn't ever go out of my way to go to any BurgerFi though. Really friendly guy let me have a (huge) sample of their custard though. It was very good.

This by far is one of the nicest burger places I have been to. Not sure if this is just because it's new or what but I hope they keep up the very friendly clean environment. Very pet friendly and they great us when I waited outside at a table and wife ordered inside with a bowel of water for our Golden Retriever dog. Will have to put this on the list to come back.

This was my first and probably last visit to a BurgerFi. I rarely go out to order a burger, because most places insist on some sort of special sauce (or in this case, Burgersauce which is a Mayo/???? blend) in most of their menu items and when requesting that they don't put it on there, they usually do anyways. Although I ordered the burger in error which contained 'Burgersauce' this is an additive that can't be removed after the fact. The top and bottom bun is slathered with the 'Burgersauce' and is the only condiment that cannot be removed after the fact. I respect that this is a business and take responsibility for my error and did not request that they remake the burger. Perhaps the cashiers should inquire with new customers exactly what they want on their burgers. Upon leaving, the manager did ask me how I liked my order and I explained that 'Burgersauce' should never be imposed on a burger. He stated that they have a build your own burger option, but by this time, I had finished, was unhappy with myself and the restaurant and was ready to leave. He inquired about how I like the meat. I just stood there while he touted the quality of the meat from Meyers farm or something like that and how it was organic and antibiotic-free. The whole time I was thinking 'Meh', it should be quality meat since I just spent $13 for a burger, small fries and a fountain drink. I tossed the burger, ate the fries and left unsatisfied. I guess I'm returning to Five Guys, Char-Hut, Jack's Old-Fashioned, Smashburger or one of the other quality burger places where I can get a burger with exactly what I want on it, fries and a drink for about $10 or less and where they don't burn into the bun the company logo (as if I forgot where I just sat down). Good luck on your organic/antibiotic-free meat BurgerFi the 'Burgersauce' ruined the overall experience for me!

Alright first off the 100% organic beef was the huge thing that caught my eye when deciding where to go and good Lord did they deliver! The burger, the fries, the service all 100%! The owner himself was at this location and I saw him walking around making sure everyone was doing ok and making sure we were completely satisfied! The location was just a short walk from the Hilton and SO worth it. Oh and 50% off your beer if you get a burger on Fridays... Sold. I can't review anything else but the things I mentioned but I'm guessing they wouldn't disappoint you :) Thank you for the great experience! I hope you can make it out to California!

The best veggie burger I have ever had the quinoa gives it just the right texture and it is the only burger I will eat now! I go here all of the time and don't mind paying more for such a good hard to find veggie burger. Great fries and love the burger fi sauce.

Great food wonderful service! I know this is a franchise but I must say what a Gem!!! I typically avoid any kind of "fast food" joints but my hubby finally convinced me to try it. We were attended to by Michael who offered wonderful recommendations for the burro virgins. Both service and quality of food was outstanding! For those health nuts like me, you even have a "no bun" option which wraps your burger up with lettuce instead. Yummm both my husband and I left very satisfied.

The Vegefi Burger is very tasty and amazing!! I get it with lettuce rather than a bun. The onion rings and french fries are so yummy! They also have great milk shakes here. The staff is very friendly and quick with your orders.

Took a taxi with my wife from Best Western Plus Dania Beach to find out how good their burgers in Hallandale were. You'll probably think we were crazy... but their burgers were really the best meat, bun and all the trimmings exceptionnal. It was so good it was worth the ride. Met Shawn your manager - great guy and devoted to get a cab for us back to the Best Western Dania. I recommended this Burgerfi on the plane back home (Quebec City Canada)... we will surely return on our next cruise in 2016. The wife and I have a running gag... we got ourselves a good 100$ burger... good place good food great service thanks René B

Good burger, great fries. The staff was nice and handled special request with ease. The restaurant was very clean. Very reasonable prices given the high quality food. Great beer special on Friday too! Although we didn't order, the desserts looked awesome.

Cool Decor, good music, tasteless burgers. This is a shake shack rip-off concept that isn't good enough to convince me not to go to 5 guys.

I don't know why many people have issues with the price of burgers here?! If anyone buys organic meat, you would know that grass fed beef is EXPENSIVE, hence why I never buy it. And I'd rather pay for grassfed beef burger than some gourmet burger with questionable beef. It could use a little more seasoning. Reminds me of five guys. Didn't try fries but heard they're amazing! Yes they do have a fancy soda machine that drives up prices (I'm sure) of other items but I like my lime coke zero, thanks! Staff is nice, place is big, seats are made so as not to overstay your welcome. Free wi-fi but where I'm sitting- very weak. I'll be back.

This place had an awesome smell emanating from there, and there was a decent crowd even on a Thursday night. It's a very casual joint to eat at, kid friendly, and relatively inexpensive. I had a double burger with hickory bacon. The bun was nice and soft, slightly sweet (reminiscent of Hawaii Bread) but it was toasted on the grill. The patties were very thin, I worried that it might be way to much food for me, but their 2 patties together seemed the height of 1 patty at other specialty burger places. The bacon was nice and crisp - so all in all, a decent burger. I was excited to eat their fries, because they had so many different toppings/spices that could be added. Perhaps it was because I took my whole meal to go rather than eating them fresh at the restaurant, but they were soggy/limp and not very tasty.

This place is outstanding. Excellent food and they even serve Funky Buddha Floridian beer (my favorite! ) My seven year old even gave it 5 stars as she woofed down her food. That is saying something for her. We will definitely be back!!

I'm from Jersey, so anytime I'm sitting outdoors in February near the beach enjoying a great burger and fries while my compadres back home are freezing in 23 degree weather is a good day! But seriously I had to write this review because the burger was good and quality and the toppings were fresh. The fries were hand cut and I was able to get vinegar as a topping! (Bonus!) I had a delicious chocolate shake as well - hey! Don't judge me -I was on vacation! Nothing fancy but a good burger , which on occasion, is just what one needs.

Loved their Texas chili cheese dog. Ordered off of a review, Wasn't super fond of the parm fries myself... Loved the outside seating area with good music. Relaxing lunch.

i get the Veggifi, garden style with mushrooms on it and i must say i crave this burger. The staff and management are very friendly and helpful. I think the vanilla custard is better than the chocolate. Fries are good too.

My second time hitting a burgerfi and the first review of such. I'm all about redemptions for locations I've had lack luster experiences with and today I gave burgerfi its second shot. You know that little voice in the back of your head thats telling you what is and isn't nessacarily a good idea. You should listen to that voice more often, the exact opposite of what I did in the decision to eat here again. First off, there's nothing wrong with the burgers themselves, they are what you may come to expect of a burger with meat bread and whatever else you want to throw on there. The problem is, that's exactly what you're going to get. No flair, nothing that makes the burger standout at all, just another run of the mill burger. What really gets me irked is the price for the underwhelming grill puck. For 12 and change I wound up with an undersized, underwhelming, overcooked (they will not send anything through the window thats less than midwell, dont bother asking, you dont get a choice in this) small puck of meat that claims to be Natural Angus (and it may very well be, but when the flavor is scortched right out of it, it really doesn't matter what kind of cow it came from) fresh cut fries and a drink. Truth be told the fries were the only redeeming factor that kept the dreaded one star smack of shame from coming out but frankly fries alone are not going to warant a third visit. I could easily pick up the ingredients from a publix and make a far superior burger for significantly less, and so can you for that matter. On a note regarding Burgerfi's "All Natural tastes better" tag line. All natural does infact taste better but guess what else is all natural. Cocain, anthrax, crude oil, small pox and ebola. Beware of trendy catch phrases because in this case, an all natural burger that's tiny, overcooked and dissapponting isn't going to make up for its lack of effort just because it's "all natural" Do yourself a favor, go across the street to Gilbert's 17th street grill, get your moneys worth of awesome food cooked the way you want it. A mid rare burger shouldn't be impossible to get.

Great burgers but dam they are expensive. The cost alone makes me think twice before going there. I mean come on its just a burger place. The atmosphere is pretty cool. Love the coke machine. Definitely worth a try but make sure to bring your wallet.

Burger was nothing out of this world. But I can't have an "okay" burger with BAD fries. And these fries were just as bad as Five Guys. Not coming back.

Decided to try it again being that it's right next to where I work. Definitely much better than last time, not sure why because I ordered the same thing- veggie burger green style except this time I got it grilled instead of fried- how they normally do it. Only found out today that was an option by the girl who took my order who was really nice. It was really good and I'll definitely return, just probably won't get the flavorless fries. The manager was nice too, good customer service here.

i been there 2 times for the frozen custard....very good stuff, the place is clean and staff very friendly. had a double cheese burger & fries all very good with so many burger places, it would be hard to go outta my way to patronize this place unless i was in front of it at lunchtime. prices are good. prob 2 steps above a wendys

I never thought I would say that I liked someplace more than Five Guys... but I do! This place is amazing. The food quality is at the top of the pile and I can't wait to go back next time I see one in my travels. The burgers are huge and you choose your toppings that you want along with any fries which are also great here. The nice thing about BurgerFi is they have a great craft beer selection as well. What goes better with a huge bacon burger than beer?! For the non-alcoholic types that have Coke Freestyle machines so you can get a custom drink with your custom burger. Stop by BurgerFi for a great dining experience!

No stars. The service is horrendous. Every single item of food came out wrong. I would understand if the place was packed, but we were 1 out of 2 parties in the restaurant. Do not recommend.

Best not to get it to go. We ordered a cheese burger, wagyu beef hot dogs (Chicago and Texas style chili cheese), and salt and vinegar fries. By the time we got back to the hotel, the fries and fallen through the bag and the buns were soggy and hard to hold in all the goodness. It was good though!

The food was awesome. And I'm not a burger gal. Onion rings were superb. Not a fan of the fries. They remind me of five guys fries. The service was exceptional. Best I've seen in years.

I went to this one after visiting the one in Palm Beach. Very disappointed!! the place was dead!! Not one customer! That should have been my first clue., and it was lunchtime!!! The service stinks. They totally ignored me, guess they are not used to waiting on people. Not friendly, they should have been falling all over me to stay, as I am their bread and butter. The owner needs to retrain his staff for customer service. The burgers are no better than anywhere else. Fries, just ok. For a place that is trying to be "healthy", why serve fried food? They should be baked fries....duh!!!

  • Sean G.

Love this place! You can't beat the food or customer service for the price. The burgers are great! I have found myself more than once at a restaurant where I'm paying upwards of $16 for a burger, and thinking that I would've been happier with a BurgerFi burger. The onion rings are also amazing! If you're looking for a low carb solution, "green style" your burger (replaces the bun with lettuce). It's delicious! Customer service is great. Staff gives you a pager to alert you when your food is done, but sometimes meets you halfway to your table. They also check on you occasionally to see if you need anything. They have craft root beers by the bottle in their cooler as well! Definitely recommend this place for a quick quality bite that won't break the bank.

I read so many great reviews about this place that I had to try it out myself. Let me just say, AMAZING FOOD and amazing staff!!! The general manager (I believe his name was Tom) was so friendly and welcoming. He recommended the Conflicted Burger which was meat and vegetarian meat together. It was outstanding. Seriously this place is a must!!!

Boyfriend and I were in town for one night before a cruise and this place was a great dinner spot! Service was pretty quick for a casual dining place and it was very clean. Plus, it was COOL, which was great given the humidity and we had just walked about a mile to get there! I had a custom burger and my bf had a BurgerFi Cheeseburger. Their standard burgers have two patties, and I'm guessing it's because they are pretty small. We were both surprised at their size a bit, so I would definitely order a double patty if you do custom! I got a single but had fries and a custard shake so I didn't leave hungry. Their burgers were delicious despite their size and were seasoned, which I love. All produce was fresh. Their fries were good. Crispy and well seasoned. I got Urban fries, and I think my only issue was the garlic aioli was pretty thick and I was expecting something a little more like a sauce and less like a mayo. Still tasted delicious though. I also had a Peanut Butter Custard Shake and that was fantastic. So smooth and had just the right about of PB. A very lovely treat. It does warm up quicker than ice cream though, so don't mess around with drinking it! BF loved their Freestyle Soda Machine. I did try some peach Sprite, which was awesome! I hope to see more of these machines in California! This is a little pricier than your average burger joint if you get the whole shebang. To me it was worth it though. Overall, a good pick thanks to Yelp! Would definitely come here again if I were in the area.

This is the third BurgerFi location I've eaten at and my third Two Stars rating, which since it is an all alike chain, shouldn't surprise. At least on that point, even though not much of a plus, they show consistency, albeit a subpar consistency. So, knowing this, one might ask why I keep right on trying yet another BurgerFi out? I think it is that I'm attracted to their décor and design. They are all somewhat different, but the same sort of chic spiffy clean ultramodern in design and décor, possibly leading me to expect more than what I get. This particularly BurgerFi is nicely done with a wood light wood panel, nice blend of colors but in keeping with the other by use of their unique gleaming overhead oversized ceiling fans. There's just something about them that exudes a pleasant degree of "being with it." This time I went for their single stack burger with diced onion, lettuce, pickle, tomato, ketchup, mustard, and my surprising find that they also have neon relish, a necessary traditional with Chicago style hotdogs but that I've never had with a burger before. It was good, but nothing I can rave about. BurgerFi would probably rate much higher with me elsewhere, but here in Lauderdale we are saturated with some really superior burgers such as those served up a Gilbert's 17th Street Grill (one the very best), ROK:Brgr, Burgers & Suds and Burger & Beer, just to name a few.

Wow. First timer and BurgerFi gives Shake Shack big competition!! It was relatively empty for being 1:30. I did wait for a good 10 mins for my food but didn't bother me. I guess it takes time for perfection! This plaza is super busy and parking is a bit of a wrestle during its peak hours. I got a single cheese burger and it was on point! Don't forget the burger fi sauce! Also got the cry and fries and glad I did. With cheese sauce on the side. Just pure yumminess. Ended it with a vanilla shake topped with whip cream and chocolate sprinkles. I'm so full! But I can't wait to grab another bite. I can totally see myself gaining weight because of burgerfi lol

This would have been our 3rd burger joint stop on the UYE had we not had the burger coma... yelp.com/events/davie-uy… And I told myself we'd come back afterwards. Based on all the good reviews we read, we figure we got to give a try. So on this day, we made it here for lunch. I really like a good juicy burger once a while and has yet to find that perfect one besides The Tub. I guess these kinds of burgers are hard to come by. We picked this place hoping for that but I don't think they delivered it. Yes, 100% organic beef sounds great, but how does it taste? Nothing special if you ask me. Not with any flairs and definitely didn't knock my socks off. The beef patties were thin and small, and in my mind not worth for the prices they are charging. We also ordered the fires. They were hot and crispy, but I think they added too much salt on them. We literally were brushing the salt off the fries or they'd be inedible. On the good note, the decor was nice. The service was not bad. The food came out pretty quickly. But we had better tasting burgers at other places like ROK:Brgr and The Tub.

Friendly staff. Burgerfi has best burgers and it's affordable. Love there lettuce wrapped triple cheese burger. Great healthy alternate to Wendy's McDonald's or Burger King for not much more in price.

We went back after we returned from our cruise. The food and service was just as good. I tried a different burger at the suggestion of the staff and loved the lemonade! We really appreciated the fast and friendly service and the delicious food. By the way, the onion rings were ridiculously good!!

I am a real big fan of Burgerfi, but I had a bad experience at this location. They reached out to me apologized and assured me they would improve this location.

I think Burger Fi is better every time I eat a burger somewhere else. There's something about Organic Beef fresh ingredients , fresh fries and huge beer battered onion rings, industrial decor and friendly customer service. This location is right off 17th street causeway in the Ross plaza across from Vitos Pizza, and Gyroville. They offer Kids Day every Wednesday for a 2$ burger or cheeseburger, free concrete with purchase of burger and fries. There's a grass area where they offer dog clean up bags for any 'mistakes' , and many tables outside to enjoy the weather, including picnic tables where I saw friends get together with food from the other restaurants. I found a table for my dog to enjoy near the grass. I ordered the Quinoa burger ( VeggieFi Burger) and my husband gets his usual Double Bacon Cheeseburger with desired toppings. Also added on the bill - Concrete (frozen custard) Red Velvet Shake for after eating , and a small Chocolate Concrete Cup. The Quinoa burger is tasty and moist, but seems to be cooked in a lot of oil. I do find it tastier than a regular burger here. Yummy home made fries and huge onion rings - I always wish there were more, but it ends up enough. - ask for the special Burger Fi sauce on the side it goes perfect for fry dipping. The Double Bacon Cheeseburger was good. My husband tried my quinoa burger and loved it, it really is tasty even if you're a meat lover. I do find the meat is overcooked for my taste, I'm a medium rare kinda girl -no choice! I think the cheese and bacon is needed in these burgers to make them good. At the end to get the desserts, I went up to the counter. The guy was happy to make it for us but he was alone working behind the cash , and had to make the custards. There doesn't seem to be a lot of customers here, it's a more quiet location. Yummy awesome Vanilla custard with Red Velvet cake pieces mixed in it, really delish. The little sized frozen custard was packed with toppings like nuts and was satisfying, I loved the chocolate flavor. The prices are comparable to other designer Burger restaurants, and if you know what to order Burger Fi is better than many of them.

This location is the best one I ever visited. The accuracy of your order and quality of the food is amazing. You can tell that this location emphasizes customer service. The first time I ate here with co-workers there were two convention groups also eating here. The manager Michael was amazing. He rallied the employees and even jumped on a register himself so that my party didn't have to wait in line behind the convention groups. When they tell you your did will be ready in seven minutes, they mean it. And the food will arrive exactly as you ordered it. How refreshing and impressive! Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and management is not satisfied until the customer is. I highly recommend this location if you want great food and great service. It's the perfect spot that's fun and relaxing, but it really shines in the customer service department.

Ordered the 100% Wagyu Kobe Beef Dog and a BF Cheeseburger which were very good. The onion rings were HUGE! After eating only two, I was full, but you gotta do what you came to do, so we finished them all. Received a helpful rundown of the menu options from the cashier. The soda dispenser allows you to make and sample an endless combination of flavors until the next customer arrives and gives you that subtle "hurry up and get out of the way" look. There are plenty of seating options: inside, outside, regular or bar height. We moved from where we initially sat outside because as it never fails to happen, the patron next to us lit up a death stick and momentarily disrupted our enjoyment of the fresh air. Neither table was clean so we wiped them down ourselves--it was during the lunch hour rush and the BF employee who eventually came to retrieve trays apologizedfor the oversight.

The burgers are delicious and the buns are surprisingly soft. I highly recommend the chili cheese fries, the chili has some heat, but even a wuss like me can handle it. I'm hoping I save room to try the custard next time! It's also surprisingly not too overpriced for how pretentiously they explained the meaning behind their name.

Great burger & parmesan n herbs. I'm really not into this kind of food anymore but for a free burger, I'm game. However I'm not a fry person, the girl asked if I wanted a plain fry also? My thought was yeah if you want to put a plain fry in there amongst it, ok... I have 2 orders of fries I did not eat. So if your hick as myself? Well you know.... I should've stuck with the free burger only, but it was really good food
